HoSun Hwang, MD
HoSun Hwang, MD has dedicated his education to the restoration of musculoskeletal and spinal function through the use of a combination of conservative, non-operative treatment modalities and when appropriate, advanced surgical reconstructive procedures. Dr. Hwang is drawn to the precise and exacting nature of spinal reconstruction surgery and devotes the majority of his endeavors to treating spinal disorders.
In evaluating patients with spinal disorders, Dr. Hwang observed that many also had arthritic degeneration of the hip joints. He has examined and studied this procedure under the tutelage of his partner, Stefan Kreuzer, MD, a renowned anterior hip replacement surgeon.
Dr. Hwang completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley. He then received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha national honor medical society. In search of warmer weather, Dr. Hwang moved to Houston, Texas to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine. During residency, he was honored with the Bronze Hammer award and the Leonard Marmor Arthritis Foundation award. While in Houston, Dr. Hwang met his sweetheart wife, Adrienne. Dr. Hwang’s medical training culminated with the Spinal Disorders Fellowship at the University of California Davis Medical Center. In addition to honing his spine skills in California, he became an avid snowboarder. Dr. Hwang now practices in Houston, Texas and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
